Mrs. Yoachim
Pictured here with my mentor Jan Jones from Kearney Public Schools receiving the Nebraska Art Teachers Association Art Educator of the Year and Middle School Art Educator of the Year Awards in 2012.
This is my fourth year at Bellevue West High School and my 26th year of teaching Art. I have worked in the Bellevue Public Schools since 2002 teaching at Lewis & Clark and Mission Middle Schools for ten years. I started my teaching career in the Kearney Public Schools where I taught Elementary Art for twelve years.
I studied at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I earned my B.A and my M.A. in Art Education from Kearney. I completed my Masters in Art Education in 1998 with a creative thesis in painting.
I am active in the local Art community and serve on the board for the Nebraska Art Teachers Association as Awards Chair and past ESU 3 Representative & Co-Treasurer. I am active in the Bellevue Artists Association, and Alpha Delta Kappa an honorary sorority for women educators. In my free time I love to paint, ride my motorcycle and exhibit my work in the Omaha area.

Plains to Planes Public Arts Project 2007
I painted three of the buffalo benches in the Bellevue area. This one is called "Double Nickel "and is located at McCallie and Associates near the Twin Creek Movie Theater. The other two are located at First National Bank on Hwy. 75 & Cornhusker and my favorite is at the Sarpy County Fairgrounds in Springfield, NE. This Public Arts Project was done to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Sarpy County, Nebraska.
